Performance in Polish.
Let's explore the phenomenon of time. Its perception, acceleration, deceleration, stopping. Maybe texture, color, emotion? At the heart of the research lies a seemingly insignificant event that can take on enormous proportions... over time and with a little magic.
„Tempo” is the first collaboration between illusionist and visual artist Kalle Nio and Brazilian choreographer Fernando Melo. The text is intertwined with dance sequences and stage illusions in which time seems to flow contrary to the laws of logic. The impression of traveling between dream and reality is enhanced by evocative music.
„Tempo” is not just a performance—it is an experience that prompts questions about how we perceive time and how it shapes our lives as we enter adulthood, face our own transience, the dizzying pace of the world, and attempts to hold on to the elusive.
SENSITIVE CONTENT INFORMATION:
Three artists meet on stage, and their movements, balancing between dance, theater, and acrobatics, explore the limits of the human body's capabilities, and sometimes exceed them.
Kalle Nio is a Finnish theater director, visual artist, and magician known for combining visual theater, experimental film, contemporary circus, and new magic. His group WHS has performed in over 200 theaters in more than 40 countries, gaining international recognition.
Brazilian choreographer Fernando Melo, who lives in Sweden and works internationally, creates choreography for three outstanding dancers that defies gravity and time. Slovenian dancer and puppeteer Barbara Kanc, Italian dancer Luigi Sardone, and Swedish dancer-acrobat Winston Reynolds move in the space between dance, theater, and acrobatics. The movements of both the performers and the set design approach the limits of the impossible—and go beyond them.
The performance uses two types of stage smoke. It has a slow pace that requires focus and concentration.
