The show cleverly plays with the viewer's intelligence, offering pure entertainment in an attractive, sophisticated form. In a certain medium-sized kingdom, somewhere in central Europe, a real drama is developing. The heir to the throne, Prince Tartaglia, has contracted a disease called melancholia and is incapable of ascending to the crown. His father, King Karo, who prefers to solve problems with a battle axe, is thus vulnerable to plots and intrigues of his unfaithful subjects looking for a way to seize power. In addition to politics, another thing that enters into play is some powerful magic. Under its influence the prince is not getting any better, but instead falls in love with... oranges! And, in order to get them he sets out on a long journey, full of marvels and danger in the company of an actor-comedian.
