Marta Berthold

actress

Currently playing in: Many plays or few plays (depending on the season you are reading this in)
In the theater since: The year that had the earthquake in Haiti and a volcano eruption in Iceland. The radio was constantly playing Lady Gaga and her smash hit Bad Romance, and I was voraciously reading Haruki Murakami during breaks from writing my master's thesis; which is to say since 2010.
Favorite role: I like something in each one that I play. Be it the goodness of the character, or their shyness or feistiness. Even when playing the right wing of an old closet door, there is something non-obvious in it that I enjoy.
Dream role: I would like to play a shooting star, one that fell from heaven. In a puppet theater, anything is possible....
Hardest role: The role of a mother for my sons :)
Theater for me is: A job that I love more than life, and very rarely hate.
If I were not an actress, I would be: A glider pilot!
I am most proud of: The fact that I can fulfill my dreams and keep coming up with new ones.
Biggest mishap on stage: During the Academy for the 30th anniversary of Elementary School No. 28 in Gliwice, after an outstanding recitation of a poem, I got tangled up in a microphone cable and spectacularly fell over right there on the stage.
